Buy A2 Ghee Online in India

Ghee has been a part of the Indian diet since forever. Whether sweet or savoury, most of our foods have the delicious, lingering taste and aroma of ghee that almost evokes nostalgia.

Pure cow ghee has traditional as well as ceremonial importance in our diet, and if you choose the right kind, it will be beneficial for your health, too.

If you’re not well versed with the types of cow ghee, know that it comes in two variants A1 ghee and A2 ghee. While both have health benefits, A2 ghee has more advantages over A1 as it has higher nutritional value.

But what is A2 ghee and what makes it different from A1 ghee?

Read on to know!

What is A2 Ghee?

A2 cow ghee is made from the milk of desi cows or cows of Indian origin, that naturally produce A2 beta-casein. These cows are pure breed cows, such as Gir cows, and the ghee, therefore, is known as Gir Cow Ghee or A2 Desi Cow Ghee.

A1 cow ghee, on the other hand, is made from Western-origin cows, such as Holstein and Jersey. They yield a large quantity of milk and generally have some nutritive value; however, it is difficult to digest compared to A2 cow ghee.

How is A2 Ghee Made?

Jiva A2 ghee is made using the Vedic bilona-churning technique to preserve nutrients. This method consists of churning out butter from curd with the help of a “bilona” or a wooden beater.

For this, A2 Gir cow milk is boiled first to make it safe for your consumption. It is then curdled by adding some curd to it and left overnight. Once curdled, it is churned with a wooden beater till it forms fermented butter, which floats on the top. This butter is heated at medium temperature till a golden liquid, called ghee, forms. This ghee is then filtered using a strainer and stored.

A2 Ghee Benefits

Jiva A2 ghee comes with a gamut of benefits:

1. Good Source of Nutrients

A2 ghee is an excellent source of OMEGA 3, OMEGA 6, healthy amino acids, and Vitamins B2, B12, B6, C, E, and K. These nutrients are beneficial to strengthen your body.

2. Boosts Brain Functions and Nourishes Nervous System

Although studies on improvement in brain functions upon consuming A2 ghee are limited, it is generally believed that the nutrients in A2 ghee enhance cognitive performance. Regular consumption of A2 ghee in moderate or prescribed amounts may bring about an improvement in the nervous system, memory, and intellect. It may also help manage some brain diseases.

3. Improves Gut Health

A2 ghee has the beta-casein protein, which is the same primary protein found in human milk. Thus, it is easily absorbed and digested by the human body, compared to A1 ghee. It can also help improve digestion and overall gut health.

4. Improves Immunity

Its digestive properties and nutritional value together, help boost immunity and improve strength and stamina.

5. Improves Vision

Ghee boosts the intake of vitamin A, a fat-soluble vitamin, which is important for maintaining the health of your eyes.

6. Maintains Heart Health

Contrary to common belief, A2 ghee, with its rich omega-3 fatty acids content, may improve good cholesterol and help manage weight, decrease inflammation, and protect against heart diseases. The key is to consume in moderation. Thus, we advise you to consult an expert for your dosage.

7. Safe for Cooking

A2 ghee has a smoke point of 450°F or 232°C, which is higher than other cooking oils. It does not break down into unhealthy compounds or produce harmful free radicals, and is, therefore, safe for frying and sautéing foods that require cooking at high temperatures.

How to consume A2 cow ghee?

You can consume A2 cow ghee as is or with other foods. Add a spoonful to your milk, curries, dals, etc., or spread it over rotis or bread. Ghee is a healthier alternative to oils, and it can be safely used for frying and sautéing foods.
Store ghee in an airtight container, in a cool and dry place, to keep it fresh. Ghee might lose its quality if kept in a warm place longer, in which case, you can store it in the fridge, too.
Jiva A2 Ghee is enriched with nutrients, derived using the traditional hand-churned technique, called Bilona. It has a creamy texture as it is made from pure desi cow ghee, and is a healthy alternative to other oils. Jiva A2 Ghee contains healthy amino acids, OMEGA 3 and OMEGA 6, and Vitamins B2, B12, B6, C, E, and K. It is beneficial in boosting immunity, reducing inflammation, and lowering the risk of seasonal infections in children as well as adults. Jiva A2 ghee may also be helpful to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels as it has properties that improve good cholesterol.
A2 ghee can last for 12 to 18 months if it is stored in an airtight jar and kept in a cool and dry place.
Overconsumption of A2 ghee could lead to the accumulation of cholesterol in your body. It is therefore recommended to consult your medical practitioner before consuming ghee and follow the prescribed dosage for best results.
