Indigo Leaf Powder Benefits

Herbal hair coloring is gentle on the hair and scalp. Here are some of the benefits you can gain with JIVA Indigo Leaf Powder:

1. Pure and Natural Hair Color

The powder is made from high-quality indigo leaves and is free from synthetic additives and preservatives. It is safe for regular use; in fact, it nourishes the hair and scalp with every application.

While indigo imparts a natural indigo color, when applied a day after applying henna on the hair, it colors the hair in rich, deep black or brown tones. It is perfect for covering grey hair naturally.

3. Strengthens and Conditions Hair

Indigo powder conditions the hair naturally, reducing split ends, frizz, and making the hair smoother and shinier. It strengthens hair shafts, minimises breakage, and promotes healthier growth. Traditionally, indigo has been used to soothe the scalp and help reduce dandruff.

Indigo Leaf Powder Price

Don’t just color but pamper your hair with nature’s best solution at a competitive price—JIVA Indigo Leaf Powder. It’s made with handpicked, high-quality indigo leaves that nourish your scalp, strengthen your hair roots, and reduce frizz and split ends for smooth, long tresses.

Direction of Use

For your regular hair conditioning routine, make a thick yoghurt-like paste with indigo powder and lukewarm water. Let it soak for 7-10 minutes and then apply it to the hair, starting from the roots. Keep it on the hair for 20-30 minutes and rinse it off with lukewarm water.

When using for coloring grey hair, apply indigo paste 1-2 days after the henna application. Making the henna powder paste is easy, too. Soak the henna or mehandi in strained tea or coffee brew in an iron vessel and leave it overnight. The next day, apply the mehandi strand-by-strand, covering the grey hair, from the roots to the tip of the hair. Leave the mehandi for 3-4 hours and then rinse it off till the water runs clear. After 24 hours of the mehandi application, apply indigo paste (prepared as explained above). Leave it for a couple of hours and rinse your hair till the water runs clear.

What is Indigo powder used for?

Indigo paste is used to condition, nourish, and color hair. It is a natural substitute for synthetic or chemical hair colors. It is safe on the skin and hair and can also nourish the hair, strengthen the hair roots, and improve overall hair health in men and women.
The natural pigment in indigo powder leaves a deep indigo or black color on the hair, depending on the base color. Remember that indigo doesn’t color grey or very light-colored hair, as its porosity doesn’t allow the molecules in indigo powder to bind with it. Coloring grey hair, therefore, requires henna application. Henna stains the hair with a reddish-brown color and allows the indigo molecules to bind and impart a deep brown or black color.
While pure indigo powder is safe to use, some variants may cause allergic reactions, dryness, or scalp irritation. Using Ayurvedic hair care solutions, such as Herbal Shampoos, Conditioners, and Herbal Hair Oils, can reduce dry scalp and issues that arise due to excessive dryness of the scalp. At times, the indigo may leave a bluish tinge on some parts of the hair. While this is normal, you may want to use henna paste to prepare your hair for indigo application to get even black or brown toned hair.
