Dosha is a word you would have gotten used to hearing in the field of Ayurveda. It defines both your physiology and psychology and yes, even your skin type! Here’s how each dosha affects the skin:

  • Vata type skin is dry, rough, and delicate.
  • Pitta type skin has a tendency of being sensitive, sweaty, and flushed.
  • Kapha type skin is usually oily, cool, and soft.

While every kind of skin has a different tendency towards being either dry or oily, each of them has to be moisturised to provide nourishment to the skin and also to boost circulation.

For Vata Skin

Crush some jasmine (chameli) petals and mix them with ghee, almond (badam) or sesame (til) oil. Rub this into your skin with gentle circular motions.

For Pitta Skin

Pitta dominants should opt for a base of ghee, coconut (nariyal), or sunflower (surajmukhi) oil combined with a few drops of cooling rose water. If you struggle with acne, you can even crush some neem leaves and put them in the oil.

For Kapha Skin

Since Kapha skin type is already oily, a simple facial massage with sesame (til) oil is all you need to get that glow.
