How obesity increase the risk of piles and fistula

Obesity is a condition in which there is an excessive accumulation of fat in the body leading to negative effects on health.

Hemorrhoids are characterized by a bulge in the rectal area which brings along a lot of discomforts like itching, bleeding, and pain. It is more common in an obese individual because of the low fiber intake, low water intake and sedentary lifestyle. Anal fistula is a small tunnel that connects the end of the bowel and the skin near the anus. It’s very painful and often there are chances of bleeding while passing stool. It’s an intestinal inflammatory disease. The causes of fistula are trauma, anal abscess, obesity and constipation.

How is obesity related with piles and fistula?

The main cause of obesity includes overeating, excessive intake of junk, heavy cold and food drinks, lack of exercising, eating processed and leftover food. All these habits also cause inflammation of the intestine and further lead to bowel disorders thus putting an individual at a risk of suffering from piles or fistula.

Ayurveda analysis on obesity is that this disease begins because of imbalance of doshas (Vata, Pita, and kapha), n imbalance of agni (digestive fires), an imbalance of malas(waste products) or an imbalance of shrotas (microcirculatory channels). These imbalances altogether lead to formation of dhatus, which further lead to tissue imbalance, which we see as obesity.

How to prevent obesity

Physical activity

sedentary life is a major cause of weight gain. Introducing any kind of physical exercises in the routine can help shed those extra unwanted kilos from the body. The physical activity can be morning walks, yoga asana, hitting a gym or zumba classes or any kind of sport. Exercise also tones the intestinal tract and therefore is considered very important.

Eating healthy

eating five to six servings of fruits and vegetables is very necessary. It completes our body requirement of vitamins and fiber. Thereby reducing weight and also is of great help in curing constipation and other stomach issues.

Water intake

Water is the main source of keeping our body hydrated. 8- 10 glasses of water every day is a must. It helps in improving our metabolism and also the bowel movements.

Once a fat cell is formed it remains in your body forever. Reducing its size is easy but it’s really difficult to get rid of them. Therefore preventing obesity is very important to keep the related problem away.
