Halitosis is the medical terminology of bad breath. There are various factors causing bad breath and all are related to stomach, such as chronic indigestion, ulcers or tooth diseases. Though not a disease, but can be of a great impact socially and personally.
Causes of bad breath

- Clogging of food particles between the teeth.

Honey and ginger
Honey mixed with fresh ginger juice or ginger powder can be used as a mouthwash for fresh breath.
Honey and spice water
Mix cardamom, cumin seeds, and fennel seeds. Put them in boiling water. Add honey and turmeric to it. Gargle with this water two or three times in a day. It is of great help in keeping the breath fresh.
As indigestion and constipation lead to bad breath, it can be cured by Triphala churana, shanka vati, hingvastak churana and other Ayurvedic remedies for weak digestion.
Cardamom seeds are the natural breath freshener and can be taken use of any time to fight halitosis.
Brushing teeth twice in a day and cleaning the mouth properly to remove any clogged food particle is required. It also removes the smell of any raw food eaten such as onion or garlic.
An adequate amount of water intake is necessary to remove bad breath. It reduces dryness of mouth and is good for stomach symptoms such as digestion, constipation which are other reason for halitosis.
