Indigestion is alarming, especially for people over 45 years of age. However, this is an avoidable situation and needs a few basic dietary changes. Mentioned below are a few alterations you can make in your regular diet to avoid any complications.

  • Have a glass of karela juice (bitter gourd juice) every morning before breakfast.
  • Add hing (asafoetida) and kala namak (black salt) to a glass of buttermilk and have it with lunch.
  • Take roasted jeera (cumin) seeds, powdered kali mirch and kala namak. Mix it with 4-5 tsp. of lemon juice. You can use this mixture as a garnish for meals.
  • Drain the water used to boil rice. Take a pinch of hing and black salt according to your taste. Mix it in the water and have it on an empty stomach daily.
  • Prepare chutney of adrak paste and kala namak. Have it every day with meals.
  • Take a glass full of lukewarm water. Squeeze half a lemon in it. Mix kala namak, dry (coriander) dhaniya seeds, jeera seeds, powdered kali mirch and stir well. Have it an hour after you finish your meal.
